Addendum 71 — Relative Recurrence Occurs Before the Compton Shift

Persistent Mass Closure, Radiative Recurrence, and Orientation-Dependent Recoil

Abstract

The Compton effect is conventionally presented as decisive evidence that electromagnetic radiation behaves as particles carrying energy and momentum.

An incident photon of wavelength λ scatters from an electron through angle θ , producing an outgoing wavelength

\[\lambda'\]

satisfying

\[ \lambda^\prime-\lambda=\frac h{mc}(1-\cos\theta). \]

R2D does not begin with either a photon particle or an inert material electron.

The preceding R2D development has already supplied the two physical boundary relations required by the experiment.

Blackbody radiation established a radiative recurrence with physical reads

\[ E_\gamma=hf\]

and

\[\lambda=\frac{c}{f}\]

These are later energetic and spatial calibrations of recurrent radiative count, not primitive photon ontology.

The gravitational/mass development independently introduced a persistent local mass-turbine closure class. Before physical clock calibration, its recurrence is a count relation. After clock calibration it acquires a phase-frequency read ωM , with the physical rest-energy calibration

\[ mc^2=\hbar\omega_M\]

The same recurrence has the reduced Compton spatial read

\[\bar\lambda_M=\frac{c}{\omega_M}=\frac{\hbar}{mc}\]

Thus persistent mass recurrence occurs before rest-energy and Compton coordinates.

For Compton scattering it is useful to express the same mass recurrence in cycle rather than phase units:

\[ f_M=\frac{\omega_M}{2\pi}=\frac{mc^2}{h}\]

Its corresponding full recurrence length is

\[\lambda_M=\frac{c}{f_M}=\frac{h}{mc}=2\pi\bar\lambda_M\]

The quantity conventionally called the Compton wavelength is therefore not interpreted in R2D as the physical radius or spatial size of the massive object.

It is the physical spatial place value of the persistent recurrence native to the retained mass boundary.

Compton scattering then places two different physical recurrence reads into one interaction boundary:

free radiative recurrence

and

persistent retained mass recurrence.

Let the incoming radiative recurrence have frequency and orientation

\[(f,\hat{\mathbf n})\]

and the outgoing recurrence

\[(f',\hat{\mathbf n}')\]

Define

\[\hat{\mathbf n}\cdot\hat{\mathbf n}'=\cos\theta\]

At the mature Lorentz projection, radiative energy and momentum are

\[ E_\gamma=hf,\qquad\mathbf p_\gamma=\frac{hf}{c}\hat{\mathbf n}\]

and after scattering,

hf ′ ′

\[ E_\gamma'=hf',\qquad\mathbf p_\gamma'=\frac{hf'}{c}\hat{\mathbf n}'\]

If the massive boundary is initially at translational rest relative to the chosen enclosing background, the recoil momentum read is

\[\mathbf p_R=\frac{h}{c}(f\hat{\mathbf n}-f'\hat{\mathbf n}')\]

Therefore,

\[ p_R^2=\frac{h^2}{c^2}(f^2+f'^2-2ff'\cos\theta)\]

The persistent mass coupling is unchanged by the scattering event.

Its local mass closure remains the same recurrence class.

What changes is the translational physical state of the enclosing massive boundary.

Its final relativistic energy therefore satisfies

\[ E_R^2=m^2c^4+p_R^2c^2\]

Physical energy compatibility across the interaction boundary gives

\[ mc^2+hf=E_R+hf'\]

Eliminating ER and pR gives

\[ mc^2(f-f^\prime)=hff^\prime(1-\cos\theta). \]

Now substitute

\[ f_M=\frac{mc^2}{h}. \]

The Compton relation becomes

\[ f_M\left(\frac1{f^\prime}-\frac1f\right)=1-\cos\theta. \]

Using

\[ \lambda=\frac cf,\qquad\lambda^\prime=\frac c{f^\prime},\qquad\lambda_M=\frac c{f_M}, \]

gives

\[ \lambda^\prime-\lambda=\lambda_M(1-\cos\theta). \]

Thus:

\[ \frac{\lambda^\prime-\lambda}{\lambda_M}=1-\cos\theta. \]

The Compton shift factorizes into two physical coordinates:

mass-recurrence ruler × orientation change.

Since

\[1-\cos\theta=\frac12\left|\hat{\mathbf n}-\hat{\mathbf n}'\right|^2\]

the same result can be written

\[\frac{\Delta\lambda}{\lambda_M}=\frac12\left|\hat{\mathbf n}-\hat{\mathbf n}'\right|^2\]

This is the central physical decomposition.

The spatial Compton scale does not arise because the electron possesses a primitive physical diameter.

It is the downstream spatial read of persistent mass recurrence.

The angular factor does not arise from the size of the scatterer.

It is the orientation difference between the incoming and outgoing radiative recurrence classes.

The law becomes even more primitive when all dimensional place values are removed.

Define the incoming radiative recurrence relative to the mass recurrence:

\[\chi\equiv\frac{f}{f_M}\]

Likewise,

\[\chi'\equiv\frac{f'}{f_M}\]

Because

\[ f_M=\frac{mc^2}{h}\]

one has

\[\chi=\frac{hf}{mc^2}\]

The Compton relation becomes

\[\frac1{\chi'}-\frac1\chi=1-\cos\theta\]

Solving for the outgoing relative recurrence gives

\[\chi'=\frac{\chi}{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

This is the dimensionless R2D form of Compton scattering.

It contains only:

  1. radiative recurrence relative to persistent mass recurrence; / 2. orientation change.

The conventional classical and quantum regimes then become recurrence-separation regimes.

If

\[\chi \ll 1\]

then

\[ f\ll f_M\]

The incoming radiative recurrence is much slower than the persistent mass recurrence.

Then

\[\frac{f'}f=\frac1{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\approx1\]

The scattering is approximately elastic.

This is the Thomson regime.

R2D therefore reads the classical Thomson limit as strong recursive recurrence separation:

Thomson regime = \(f\ll f_M\).

As

\[\chi\]

approaches order unity,

\[ f\sim f_M\]

or equivalently,

\[ hf \sim mc^2\]

the two physical recurrence place values become comparable.

The wavelength shift becomes strongly distinguishable.

The Compton regime is therefore not selected by a universal primitive quantum length.

It is selected by the relative recurrence of the interacting boundaries.

The actual dimensionless interaction coordinate is

\[\chi(1-\cos\theta)\]

Strong recurrence reclassification occurs when

\[\chi(1-\cos\theta)=O(1)\]

Thus both recurrence scale and orientation matter.

The experiment also produces an exact turbine partition.

The outgoing radiative fraction is

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}\equiv\frac{f'}f=\frac1{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

Physical energy conservation gives recoil kinetic energy

\[ K_R=h(f-f')\]

Therefore define

KR χ(1 − cos θ)

\[ q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=\frac{\chi(1-\cos\theta)}{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

Then:

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}+q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=1\]

The incoming radiative physical read is partitioned between continued radiative recurrence and mechanical recoil of the retained mass boundary.

The persistent mass recurrence itself is not consumed.

The rest-mass boundary remains in the same mass-coupling class.

The scattering changes its translational relation to the enclosing background.

Compton scattering therefore exposes, in one exact physical experiment, the interaction of the two R2D limits previously developed separately:

unretained radiative recurrence

and

retained persistent mass recurrence.

The central statement is:

the Compton shift is not primitively a collision between a photon particle and a material electron. It is the physical compatibility relation between free radiative recurrence and persistent retained mass recurrence at one enclosing interaction boundary. The mass recurrence supplies the Compton ruler \(\lambda_M=h/(mc)\); the orientation change supplies \(1-\cos\theta\); and the exact law is their product. In dimensionless form, the outgoing recurrence depends only on the incoming recurrence relative to the mass turbine and on the > orientation change.

And hence:

relative recurrence occurs before the Compton shift.

1. The Compton Effect Joins Two Existing R2D Projections

The radiative program already supplies

\[ E_\gamma=hf\]

It also supplies the spatial recurrence read

\[\lambda=\frac{c}{f}\]

2. The Mass Program Supplies a Different Native Recurrence

Let the persistent mass boundary possess local closure recurrence

\[\omega_M\]

The physical rest-energy calibration is

\[ mc^2=\hbar\omega_M\]

This calibration comes after the persistent recurrence relation.

3. Mass Is Not Frequency

The physical mass coupling and the physical recurrence rate remain distinct coordinates.

The previous R2D mass development represented mass coupling through normalized relative recurrence rather than asserting

\[ m=\omega_M\]

4. The Mass Turbine Is Faster Than Its Enclosing Background

Before physical time, define the recurrence ratio

\[\rho_{B\mid M}=\frac{N_B}{N_M}\]

For a nontrivial recursive bridge,

\[0<\rho_{B\mid M}<1\]

After clock calibration,

\[\rho_{B\mid M}=\frac{\omega_B}{\omega_M}\]

Thus:

ωM > ωB .

This recurrence ordering is already established in the mass-turbine construction.

5. Rest Does Not Mean No Local Recurrence

Mechanical rest means only

\[ v_B=0\]

relative to a specified enclosing background.

It does not imply

\[\omega_M=0\]

A boundary can be translationally at rest while its native persistent recurrence remains nonzero.

6. The Reduced Compton Scale Is Already a Recurrence Projection

The phase-frequency recurrence produces

\[\bar\lambda_M=\frac{c}{\omega_M}\]

Using

\[ mc^2=\hbar\omega_M\]

\[\bar\lambda_M=\frac{\hbar}{mc}\]

The prior mass addendum therefore already placed the Compton scale downstream of recursive recurrence.

7. Compton Scattering Uses Cycle Rather Than Phase Recurrence

Define

\[ f_M=\frac{\omega_M}{2\pi}\]

Then:

mc2 = hfM .

8. Define the Full Compton Recurrence Length

\[\lambda_M=\frac{c}{f_M}\]

Therefore:

\[\lambda_M=\frac{h}{mc}\]

9. The Full and Reduced Compton Reads Differ Only by Phase Normalization

\[\lambda_M=2\pi\bar\lambda_M\]

No new physical length has been introduced.

The two forms correspond to cycle and phase recurrence conventions.

10. The Compton Length Is Not a Particle Radius

The relation

\[\lambda_M=\frac{h}{mc}\]

does not establish a physical material surface at radius λM .

It is a spatial recurrence calibration.

11. Its R2D Ordering Is

persistent mass closure

↓

\[ f_M\]

↓

mc2 , λM .

The recurrence comes first.

12. Now Define the Compton Interaction Boundary

Let

\[ B_C\]

denote the boundary at which the incoming radiation, massive scatterer, outgoing radiation, and recoil are jointly classified as one physical interaction.

13. The Incoming Radiative Read Is

\[(f,\hat{\mathbf n})\]

Its energy and momentum projections are

\[ E_\gamma=hf\]

\[\mathbf p_\gamma=\frac{hf}{c}\hat{\mathbf n}\]

14. The Outgoing Radiative Read Is

\[(f',\hat{\mathbf n}')\]

Thus:

\[ E_\gamma'=hf'\]

\[\mathbf p_\gamma'=\frac{hf'}{c}\hat{\mathbf n}'\]

15. Define the Orientation Change

\[\hat{\mathbf n}\cdot\hat{\mathbf n}'=\cos\theta\]

The angle belongs to the mature spatial projection of directional recurrence.

16. The Massive Boundary Is Initially Translationally at Rest

Choose the enclosing comparison frame such that initially

\[ p_M=0\]

Its persistent local mass recurrence remains

\[ f_M\]

17. Scattering Does Not Destroy the Mass Turbine

The rest coupling remains m.

The persistent mass closure class remains the same.

Only its translational relation to the enclosing interaction boundary changes.

18. Physical Momentum Compatibility Gives Recoil

\[\mathbf p_R=\mathbf p_\gamma-\mathbf p_\gamma'\]

Therefore:

\[\mathbf p_R=\frac{h}{c}(f\hat{\mathbf n}-f'\hat{\mathbf n}')\]

19. Square the Recoil Relation

\[ p_R^2=\frac{h^2}{c^2}\left|f\hat{\mathbf n}-f'\hat{\mathbf n}'\right|^2\]

Thus:

\[ p_R^2=\frac{h^2}{c^2}(f^2+f'^2-2ff'\cos\theta)\]

20. The Recoiling Mass Boundary Has Relativistic Energy

\[ E_R^2=m^2c^4+p_R^2c^2\]

This is an imported mature Lorentz projection.

It is not introduced as primitive R2D ontology.

21. Energy Compatibility Across the Interaction Boundary Is

\[ mc^2+hf=E_R+hf'\]

22. Isolate the Massive-Boundary Energy

\[ E_R=mc^2+h(f-f')\]

23. Square the Energy Relation

\[ E_R^2=m^2c^4+2mc^2h(f-f')+h^2(f-f')^2\]

24. Equate the Two Physical Reads of \(E_R^2\)

Using the recoil momentum expression,

\[ m^2c^4+2mc^2h(f-f')+h^2(f-f')^2\]

equals

\[ m^2c^4+h^2(f^2+f'^2-2ff'\cos\theta)\]

25. Cancel the Persistent Rest Contribution

The common term

\[ m^2c^4\]

cancels.

The persistent mass class therefore enters only through its recurrence scale in the remaining relation.

26. Expand the Frequency Difference

\[(f-f')^2=f^2+f'^2-2ff'\]

Substitution gives

\[2mc^2h(f-f')=2h^2ff'(1-\cos\theta)\]

27. Divide by 2h

\[ mc^2(f-f')=hff'(1-\cos\theta)\]

This is the Compton relation in recurrence-frequency form.

28. Replace Rest Energy With Mass Recurrence

Because

\[ f_M=\frac{mc^2}{h}\]

\[ f_M(f-f')=ff'(1-\cos\theta)\]

29. Divide by f f ′

\[ f_M\left(\frac1{f'}-\frac1f\right)=1-\cos\theta\]

This is the first central R2D form.

30. Convert Recurrence to Spatial Place Value

Since

\[\lambda=\frac{c}{f},\qquad\lambda'=\frac{c}{f'}\]

and

\[\lambda_M=\frac{c}{f_M}\]

one obtains

\[\lambda'-\lambda=\lambda_M(1-\cos\theta)\]

31. Thus the Compton Shift Is

\[\Delta\lambda=\lambda_M(1-\cos\theta)\]

The observed wavelength change is the mass-recurrence ruler multiplied by an orientation difference.

32. Normalize by the Mass Ruler

\[\frac{\Delta\lambda}{\lambda_M}=1-\cos\theta\]

The Compton law is fundamentally dimensionless before units are attached.

33. The Angular Factor Is a Squared Orientation Distance

For unit orientation vectors,

\[1-\cos\theta=\frac12\left|\hat{\mathbf n}-\hat{\mathbf n}'\right|^2\]

Therefore:

\[\frac{\Delta\lambda}{\lambda_M}=\frac12\left|\hat{\mathbf n}-\hat{\mathbf n}'\right|^2\]

34. This Separates Recurrence Scale From Orientation

The mass boundary supplies

\[\lambda_M\]

The scattering geometry supplies

1 − cos θ.

Neither alone produces the wavelength shift.

35. Define Relative Radiative Recurrence

Let

\[\chi\equiv\frac{f}{f_M}\]

This compares free radiative recurrence directly with persistent mass recurrence.

36. Its Equivalent Energetic Read Is

\[\chi=\frac{hf}{mc^2}\]

This does not make energy primitive.

It is the mature energetic representation of the recurrence ratio.

37. Its Equivalent Spatial Read Is

\[\chi=\frac{\lambda_M}{\lambda}\]

Thus frequency, energy, and spatial ruler give three physical reads of one relative recurrence.

38. Define the Outgoing Relative Recurrence

\[\chi'\equiv\frac{f'}{f_M}\]

39. The Compton Law Becomes

\[\frac1{\chi'}-\frac1\chi=1-\cos\theta\]

This is the second central R2D form.

40. Solve for the Outgoing Recurrence

\[\chi'=\frac{\chi}{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

The outgoing radiative recurrence depends only on relative recurrence and orientation change.

41. No Absolute Quantum Scale Appears

The control variable is not f alone.

It is

\[\chi\equiv\frac{f}{f_M}\]

Quantum Compton behavior is boundary relative.

42. The Full Interaction Coordinate Is

\[\Xi_C\equiv\chi(1-\cos\theta)\]

This is an addendum-level convenience variable, not a new primitive R2D quantity.

43. Then

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}=\frac{f'}{f}=\frac1{1+\Xi_C}\]

The magnitude of the recurrence shift depends on recurrence matching and orientation jointly.

44. The Thomson Regime Is Strong Recurrence Separation

If

\[\chi \ll 1\]

then for any fixed angle,

\[\Xi_C\ll1\]

Therefore:

\[\frac{f'}f\approx1\]

45. Thus Classical Scattering Is

\[ f\ll f_M\]

The radiative recurrence is slow relative to the persistent mass recurrence.

46. This Gives the Classical Limit a Recursive Meaning

The Thomson regime does not occur because quantum ontology disappears.

It occurs because the interacting recurrence scales are strongly separated.

47. The Compton Regime Appears as Separation Is Lost

When

\[\chi = O(1)\]

then

\[ f\sim f_M\]

The radiative recurrence has become comparable with the native mass-turbine recurrence.

48. Equivalently

\[ hf \sim mc^2\]

or

\[\lambda\sim\lambda_M\]

These are downstream physical representations of recurrence matching.

49. This Mirrors the Protein Thermal–IR Crossover

Addendum 69 identified a possible physical transition when recurrence place values associated with adjacent boundaries become comparable.

Compton scattering supplies an exact physical law of the same form.

50. Significant Compton Reclassification Requires

\[\chi(1-\cos\theta)=O(1)\]

Relative recurrence alone is insufficient.

Orientation change matters.

51. Forward Scattering Is Special

For

\[\theta=0\]

\[1-\cos\theta=0\]

Therefore:

\[\Delta\lambda = 0\]

No orientation change means no Compton recurrence shift.

52. Right-Angle Scattering Gives One Mass Recurrence Length

For

\[\theta=\frac\pi2,\qquad1-\cos\theta=1\]

Thus:

Δλ = λM .

53. Backscattering Gives the Maximum Shift

For

\[\theta=\pi\]

\[1-\cos\theta=2\]

Therefore:

\[\Delta\lambda_{\max}=2\lambda_M\]

54. The Maximum Shift Is Independent of Incident Wavelength

The difference

\[\lambda'-\lambda\]

is bounded only by the mass recurrence ruler and orientation range.

That is a direct experimental read of the persistent mass scale.

55. The Compton Experiment Therefore Measures the Mass Turbine Through Radiation

The local persistent mass recurrence is not directly observed as an internal mechanical oscillator.

Its spatial place value appears in the radiative recurrence shift:

\[\frac{\Delta\lambda}{1-\cos\theta}=\lambda_M\]

56. The High-Recurrence Limit Is Also Mass Calibrated

For fixed nonzero θ ,

\[\chi \to \infty\]

Then:

\[\chi'\to\frac1{1-\cos\theta}\]

57. Therefore

\[ f'\to\frac{f_M}{1-\cos\theta}\]

At fixed nonforward orientation, the outgoing recurrence becomes set by the mass-turbine recurrence scale.

58. Arbitrarily Large Incoming Recurrence Does Not Produce Arbitrarily Large Outgoing Recurrence at Fixed Angle

The excess incoming physical energy appears as recoil of the retained boundary.

This is a strong signature of recurrence compatibility against a persistent mass ruler.

59. Compton Scattering Produces an Exact Turbine Partition

Define the surviving radiative fraction

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}=\frac{f'}f\]

Then:

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}=\frac1{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

60. Define the Recoil Fraction

Because

\[ K_R=h(f-f')\]

\[ q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=\frac{K_R}{hf}\]

Therefore:

\[ q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=1-\frac{f'}f\]

61. Hence

\[ q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=\frac{\chi(1-\cos\theta)}{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

62. The Two Fractions Close

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}+q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=1\]

The physical input has been partitioned between continued radiative recurrence and recoil of the massive boundary.

63. Recoil Is Not Additional Rest Mass

The rest coupling remains m.

The persistent mass recurrence remains associated with the same local closure class.

The acquired energy is a translational physical read relative to the enclosing background.

64. Thus Two Kinds of Recurrence Must Remain Distinct

The massive boundary carries:

  1. persistent local mass recurrence;
  2. changed translational relation to the enclosing interaction boundary.

Compton scattering alters the second without replacing the first.

65. Radiation and Mass Are Complementary Physical Reads

The preceding R2D architecture already distinguished unretained radiative closure from retained mass containment.

The Compton experiment puts those two physical readouts into direct interaction.

66. It Is Therefore a Natural Bridge Between Quantum and Gravity

Blackbody radiation supplies free recurrence.

The mass/gravity program supplies persistent retained recurrence.

Compton scattering supplies their exact physical compatibility relation.

67. Principle — Persistent Mass Recurrence Precedes the Compton Ruler

\[ f_M\to\lambda_M=\frac{c}{f_M}\]

The spatial Compton coordinate comes after recurrence.

68. Principle — The Compton Wavelength Is Not a Particle Size

\[\lambda_M=\frac{h}{mc}\]

is the spatial place value of persistent mass recurrence.

It need not define a material radius.

69. Principle — Compton Shift Is Relative Recurrence Times Orientation Change

\[\frac{\Delta\lambda}{\lambda_M}=1-\cos\theta\]

This is the central dimensionless scattering relation.

70. Principle — Relative Recurrence Defines the Physical Regime

\[\chi\equiv\frac{f}{f_M}\]

Then:

\[\chi\ll1\]

is the strong-separation Thomson regime, while

\[\chi = O(1)\]

is the Compton recurrence-matching regime.

71. Principle — Orientation and Recurrence Are Joint Controls

The complete interaction strength is governed by

\[\chi(1-\cos\theta)\]

Neither an absolute frequency nor an angle alone defines the physical transition.

72. Principle — The Mass Turbine Persists Through Recoil

Scattering does not consume or recreate the mass recurrence.

It changes the massive boundary’s translational physical relation while retaining the same local mass coupling.

73. Principle — The Compton Experiment Reads Mass Recurrence Indirectly

Radiative wavelength shift provides

\[\frac{\Delta\lambda}{1-\cos\theta}=\lambda_M\]

Thus a free radiative recurrence can physically calibrate the persistent recurrence of a retained mass boundary.

74. Logical Status

Canonical R2D

Recurrence is boundary defined.

Mass and radiation are later physical readouts of recursively organized closure.

Prior Mass-Turbine Result

A persistent orientation-even mass coupling is associated with a local recurrent closure class.

Its recurrence exists before physical frequency and rest-energy coordinates.

Physical Rest-Energy Calibration

\[ mc^2=\hbar\omega_M\]

\[\bar\lambda_M=\frac{\hbar}{mc}\]

\[ f_M=\frac{mc^2}{h},\qquad\lambda_M=\frac{h}{mc}\]

Imported Mature Lorentz Projection

\[ E^2=m^2c^4+p^2c^2\]

Imported Radiative Physical Calibration

\[ E_\gamma=hf,\qquad p_\gamma=\frac{hf}{c}\]

Derived Compton Relation

\[\lambda'-\lambda=\lambda_M(1-\cos\theta)\]

Derived Dimensionless Relation

\[\frac1{\chi'}-\frac1\chi=1-\cos\theta\]

Derived Turbine Partition

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}=\frac{f'}{f}=\frac1{1+\Xi_C}\]

\[ q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=\frac{\chi(1-\cos\theta)}{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

with

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}+q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=1\]

Not Yet Established

This addendum does not yet derive:

  • the Lorentz energy-momentum relation from primitive R2D counting;
  • E = hf from the primitive axioms;
  • p = hf /c from primitive recurrence geometry;
  • the microscopic identity of the persistent mass closure;
  • electron spin;
  • or quantum state amplitudes.

It establishes the recurrence architecture underlying the exact physical Compton law once those physical mappings are supplied.

75. The Complete Compton Architecture

A massive boundary possesses persistent local recurrence:

\[ f_M\]

That recurrence acquires physical rest-energy and spatial reads:

\[ f_M=\frac{mc^2}{h},\qquad\lambda_M=\frac{h}{mc}\]

A free radiative recurrence approaches:

\[(f,\hat{\mathbf n})\]

The two participate in one enclosing interaction boundary:

\[ B_C\]

Physical compatibility preserves the persistent mass coupling while redistributing the directional physical read.

The radiative recurrence leaves as:

\[(f',\hat{\mathbf n}')\]

The massive boundary acquires recoil:

\[ p_R\]

The exact relation is:

\[\frac{\lambda'-\lambda}{\lambda_M}=1-\cos\theta\]

Or in purely relative recurrence coordinates:

\[\frac1{\chi'}-\frac1\chi=1-\cos\theta\]

Thus:

persistent mass recurrence

combined with

free radiative recurrence

and

orientation change

produces

Compton shift and recoil.

76. Conclusion

The Compton effect is commonly interpreted as a collision between a photon and an electron.

That representation is physically predictive.

R2D begins earlier.

The radiative boundary carries free recurrence.

The massive boundary carries persistent retained recurrence.

These are different physical projections of recursively organized closure.

The mass recurrence exists before its rest-energy read.

After physical calibration,

\[ f_M=\frac{mc^2}{h}\]

The same recurrence receives a spatial place value:

\[\lambda_M=\frac{c}{f_M}=\frac{h}{mc}=2\pi\bar\lambda_M\]

The Compton wavelength is therefore not introduced as the physical size of an electron.

It is the spatial ruler of the persistent mass turbine.

The incoming radiative recurrence is

\[ f\]

Its relevant relation to the massive boundary is not its absolute frequency but

\[\chi\equiv\frac{f}{f_M}\]

The outgoing recurrence is determined by

\[\chi'=\frac{\chi}{1+\chi(1-\cos\theta)}\]

Equivalently,

\[\frac1{\chi'}-\frac1\chi=1-\cos\theta\]

Once recurrence is mapped to physical spatial ruler, this becomes

\[\lambda'-\lambda=\lambda_M(1-\cos\theta)\]

The observed Compton shift therefore factorizes into a mass-recurrence scale and an orientation change.

The classical limit follows immediately.

When

\[ f\ll f_M\]

the radiative recurrence is strongly separated from the persistent mass recurrence.

Then

\[ f'\approx f\]

The scattering is approximately Thomson.

As

\[ f/f_M\]

approaches order unity, recurrence separation is lost and the Compton shift becomes strongly readable.

The classical–quantum distinction is therefore once again not an absolute scale.

It is a relation between boundary-native recurrence rates.

The experiment also exposes a turbine partition:

\[ q_{\mathrm{rad}}+q_{\mathrm{recoil}}=1\]

One fraction remains readable as outgoing radiative recurrence.

The complementary fraction becomes translational recoil of the retained mass boundary.

The persistent mass recurrence remains.

Compton scattering therefore joins the radiative and gravitational/mass sides of the R2D program in one exact physical relation.

The central statement is:

the Compton shift is the physical compatibility relation between free radiative recurrence and persistent retained mass recurrence. The mass turbine supplies the recurrence ruler \(\lambda_M=h/(mc)\), the directional change supplies \(1-\cos\theta\), and the outgoing recurrence is determined only by the incident recurrence relative to the mass recurrence and by orientation. The Thomson and Compton regimes are therefore recurrence-separation regimes rather than evidence for two different primitive ontologies.

And hence:

relative recurrence occurs before the Compton shift.}
