Addendum 48 — Coupled Horizon Retention Occurs Before Kerr–Newman Geometry

Abstract

Schwarzschild geometry contains a horizon boundary whose exterior-directed gravitational read reaches complete retention.

Kerr, Reissner–Nordström, and Kerr–Newman introduce additional structure.

At fixed physical mass, the horizon can occupy different rotational and charge states. Conventional gravity represents these states using angular momentum

\[J\]

and charge

\[Q\]

and their changes enter the black-hole first law through the work terms

\[\Omega_H dJ\]

and

\[\Phi_H dQ\]

Recursively Realized Distinguishability (R²D) asks what count architecture exists before those physical work terms are interpreted geometrically.

Define the mass-owned dimensionless scale

\[j_M\equiv\frac{GM^2}{\hbar c}\]

Define the rotational macrostate coordinate

\[j\equiv\frac J\hbar\]

and the dimensionless charge coordinate

\[q\equiv\frac Q{q_P},\qquad q_P=\sqrt{4\pi\epsilon_0\hbar c}\]

The Kerr–Newman horizon condition becomes

\[j^2+j_Mq^2\le j_M^2\]

Thus rotation and charge are not two unrelated additions to a Schwarzschild horizon.

They are two distinguishable physical macrostate coordinates within one fixed-mass admissible horizon domain.

Define

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}=\sqrt{j_M^2-j^2-j_Mq^2}\]

Then the phase-normalized horizon roots are

\[x_\pm=j_M\pm\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}.\]

The outer-horizon Bekenstein–Hawking multiplicity coordinate is

\[S_+ (j, q) = \ln W_+ = 2\pi (j_M + \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) - \pi q^2\]

This is the native logarithmic multiplicity landscape of the physically calibrated stationary horizon boundary.

The Kerr–Newman first law is

\[d(M c^2 ) = k_B T_H dS_+ + \Omega_H dJ + \Phi_H dQ\]

Along the fixed-mass stationary family,

\[d(M c^2 ) = 0\]

Therefore,

\[k_B T_H dS_+ = - (\Omega_H dJ + \Phi_H dQ)\]

Define the physical dimensionless retention differential

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ+\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}\]

Then

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=-dS_+.\]

Because S+ is a state function, the total coupled retention one-form is exact.

The two conventional work channels may be written

\[dR_J=\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ}{k_BT_H}\]

and

\[dR_Q=\frac{\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}\]

But on the full two-dimensional Kerr–Newman macrostate domain, these channel contributions are not separately exact in general.

Their sum is:

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_J + dR_Q = -dS_+\]

The integrable object therefore belongs to the coupled horizon boundary, not independently to rotation and charge.

Under the R²D stationary-state mapping, enclosing possibility changes in the same differential relation:

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

Hence,

\[dA_{\mathrm{KN}}=dP_{\mathrm{KN}}-dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=0.\]

This is a differential stall condition over the stationary Kerr–Newman macrostate manifold.

It must not be confused with an absolute statement

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}} = R_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

which requires an independently specified integration constant.

Nor should it be confused with extremality.

Differential stall holds throughout the stationary family under this mapping.

Extremality occurs only when

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Using the canonical R²D possibility relation

\[P=\ln\frac\Theta W=\ln\Theta-S\]

we have

\[dP = d \ln \Theta - dS\]

Since

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}} = -dS_+\]

it follows that

\[d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Thus the enclosing compatible multiplicity remains invariant across the connected fixed-mass stationary macrostate family.

Rotation and charge redistribute the realized horizon multiplicity landscape without changing the enclosing compatible count under this stationary-stall mapping.

Relative to the same-mass Schwarzschild state,

\[S_{\mathrm{Schw}} = 4\pi j_M\]

Define the cumulative physical retention read

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} \equiv S_{\mathrm{Schw}} - S_+\]

Then

\[S_+ + R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_{\mathrm{Schw}}\]

This is a physical state-space identity.

It does not identify

\[S_{\mathrm{Schw}}\]

with primitive possibility or with

\[\ln \Theta\]

The inner horizon supplies a useful but secondary geometric comparison.

Its multiplicity coordinate is

\[S_- = 2\pi (j_M - \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) - \pi q^2\]

The cumulative retention read is

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = 2\pi (j_M - \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) + \pi q^2\]

Therefore,

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_- + 2\pi q^2\]

Only on the pure Kerr axis,

\[q = 0\]

does this reduce to

\[R_J = S_-\]

Thus the Kerr inner-horizon equality is not a universal R²D identification.

Reissner–Nordström and the full Kerr–Newman family show that the inner horizon is not the primitive retention coordinate.

The correct hierarchy is therefore

fixed-mass horizon boundary

↓

(j, q) admissible macrostate domain

↓

\[S_+ (j, q) = \ln W_+\]

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ+\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}=-dS_+\]

↓

Kerr–Newman geometry.

Thus:

coupled horizon retention occurs before Kerr–Newman geometry.

More specifically:

rotation and charge are distinct physical work projections of one integrable retention relation owned

1. Begin With the Boundary

Before introducing Kerr–Newman radius, metric, angular velocity, electrostatic potential, or inner and outer horizons, R²D requires a count boundary that owns the distinguishable states.

Let

\[B_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

denote a stationary gravitational horizon count boundary at fixed physical mass

\[M\]

The fixed mass defines the orientation-even gravitational scale of the macrostate domain.

Rotation and charge label distinguishable states within that domain.

2. Mass Remains Orientation Even

Under rotational reversal,

\[J \to -J\]

while

\[M \to M\]

Under charge reversal,

\[Q \to -Q\]

while again

\[M \to M\]

Thus mass does not carry the signs of either physical orientation coordinate.

Define

\[j_M=\frac{GM^2}{\hbar c}\]

This is the fixed-mass dimensionless gravitational scale used throughout the present state family.

3. Rotation Supplies One Physical Macrostate Coordinate

Define

\[j=\frac J\hbar\]

Then

\[J \to -J\]

implies

\[j \to -j\]

The sign of j retains rotational orientation.

But the gravitational multiplicity landscape need not distinguish the signs +j and −j separately.

4. Charge Supplies a Different Physical Macrostate Coordinate

Define the rationalized Planck-charge scale

\[q_P=\sqrt{4\pi\epsilon_0\hbar c}\]

Then define

\[q=\frac Q{q_P}\]

Under charge reversal,

\[Q \to -Q\]

we have

\[q \to -q\]

Thus charge also possesses an orientation-odd physical coordinate.

Its physical meaning is not identical to rotational orientation.

5. Rotation and Charge Need Not Be the Same Primitive Distinction

The coordinates

\[j\]

and

\[q\]

transform similarly under reversal,

\[j \to -j\]

\[q \to -q\]

but they represent different physical projections.

Angular momentum is a mechanical rotational read.

Charge is an electromagnetic coupling read.

R²D does not need to collapse these physical coordinates into one primitive substance.

The question is whether they belong to one larger admissible boundary relation.

6. Kerr–Newman Answers Yes

The conventional Kerr–Newman horizon radii are

\[r_\pm=r_M\pm\sqrt{r_M^2-a^2-r_Q^2}\]

where

\[r_M=\frac{GM}{c^2},\qquad a=\frac J{Mc}\]

and

\[r_Q^2=\frac{GQ^2}{4\pi\epsilon_0c^4}\]

Real horizons require

\[r_M^2-a^2-r_Q^2\ge0\]

7. Rewrite the Horizon Condition in Count-Normalized Coordinates

Multiplying the horizon relation by the appropriate mass-phase scale gives

\[j^2+j_Mq^2\le j_M^2\]

Thus the physically different coordinates j and q occupy one common admissible horizon domain.

This is already an important R²D result.

The two work channels belong to one boundary before they are decomposed into separate conventional physical terms.

8. Normalize the Admissible Domain

Define

\[\chi_J\equiv\frac j{j_M}\]

and

\[\chi_Q\equiv\frac q{\sqrt{j_M}}\]

Then the admissible domain becomes

\[\chi_J^2 + \chi_Q^2 \le 1\]

The fixed-mass Kerr–Newman family therefore occupies a bounded two-dimensional macrostate domain.

9. Kerr and Reissner–Nordström Are Axes of One Domain

Pure Kerr corresponds to

\[\chi_Q = 0\]

Pure Reissner–Nordström corresponds to

\[\chi_J = 0\]

Schwarzschild is

\[\chi_J = \chi_Q = 0\]

The general Kerr–Newman state lies inside the combined domain.

Thus Kerr and Reissner–Nordström should not be treated as fundamentally unrelated gravitational ontologies.

They are physical axes of one larger stationary state space.

10. Define the Residual Geometric Coordinate

Define

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}=\sqrt{j_M^2-j^2-j_Mq^2}\]

Equivalently,

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}=j_M\sqrt{1-\chi_J^2-\chi_Q^2}\]

Then

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} \ge 0\]

Schwarzschild has

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} = j_M\]

Extremality has

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

11. The Residual Coordinate Is Not R²D Asymmetry

The R²D directional asymmetry is

\[A = P - R\]

The Kerr–Newman residual coordinate

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

is not that quantity.

It is a physical coordinate describing the remaining separation permitted by the projected Kerr–Newman state geometry.

Therefore,

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} \ne A\]

This distinction will become crucial when stationary stall and extremality are compared.

12. Define the Phase-Normalized Radius

Let

\[x=\frac{Mc}{\hbar}r\]

The Kerr–Newman horizon polynomial becomes

\[x^2-2j_Mx+j^2+j_Mq^2=0\]

Its roots are

\[x_\pm=j_M\pm\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}.\]

13. The Root Sum Is Mass Owned

The roots satisfy

\[x_+ + x_- = 2j_M\]

Thus their sum depends only on the fixed-mass gravitational scale.

Their product is

\[x_+ x_- = j^2 + j_M q^2\]

The branch splitting therefore depends on the rotational and charge state.

14. The Outer Horizon Supplies the Native Multiplicity Read

The Kerr–Newman horizon area is

\[A_\pm=4\pi(r_\pm^2+a^2)\]

Under the Bekenstein–Hawking physical calibration,

\[S_\pm=\ln W_\pm=\frac{A_\pm}{4\ell_P^2}\]

Using the normalized horizon polynomial gives

\[S_\pm=2\pi x_\pm-\pi q^2\]

Therefore the outer-horizon multiplicity landscape is

\[S_+ (j, q) = 2\pi (j_M + \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) - \pi q^2\]

15. The Native Multiplicity Is Even Under Orientation Reversal

Because S+ depends on

\[j^2\]

and

\[q^2\]

we have

\[S_+ (j, q) = S_+ (-j, q)\]

and

\[S_+ (j, q) = S_+ (j, -q)\]

Thus the scalar gravitational multiplicity projection is orientation even.

The signs of rotation and charge belong to the physical macrostate coordinates, not to the scalar multiplicity value itself.

16. Orientation and Multiplicity Must Remain Distinct

The states

\[+j\quad\text{and}\quad-j\]

can have equal horizon multiplicity while remaining physically distinguishable rotational states.

Likewise,

\[+q\quad\text{and}\quad-q\]

can have equal gravitational horizon multiplicity while remaining physically distinct charge states.

Thus:

orientation distinction \(\\ne\) multiplicity diff

The boundary can own both.

17. The First Law Supplies the Physical Work Reads

The Kerr–Newman first law may be written

\[d(M c^2 ) = k_B T_H dS_+ + \Omega_H dJ + \Phi_H dQ\]

Here

\[\Omega_H\]

is the horizon angular velocity and

\[\Phi_H\]

the horizon electrostatic potential.

The two conventional productive work reads are therefore

\[\Omega_H dJ\]

and

\[\Phi_H dQ\]

18. Restrict to the Fixed-Mass Stationary Family

For the macrostate family considered here,

\[dM = 0\]

Hence,

\[d(M c^2 ) = 0\]

The first law becomes

\[k_B T_H dS_+ + \Omega_H dJ + \Phi_H dQ = 0\]

Therefore,

\[\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ+\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}=-dS_+\]

19. Define the Coupled Physical Retention Read

Map the dimensionless productive work coordinate to R²D retention:

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ+\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}\]

Then

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=-dS_+.\]

This relation is exact over the connected stationary macrostate domain.

20. Retention Is Not Angular Momentum or Charge

The mapping does not identify

\[J = R\]

or

\[Q = R\]

Nor does it identify either work term alone with a primitive independent retention variable.

Instead,

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

belongs to the transition relation of the full coupled boundary.

The physical coordinates J and Q describe how that relation is read.

21. Decompose the Physical Work Read

Define

\[dR_J\equiv\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ}{k_BT_H}\]

and

\[dR_Q\equiv\frac{\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}\]

Then

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_J + dR_Q\]

This is a decomposition of the physical work read.

It need not imply two independent primitive turbines.

22. The Individual Channels Are Coupled

When both

J and zero are separated by a clipped relation glyph [source page 1657; author review].

and

Q and zero are separated by a clipped relation glyph [source page 1657; author review].

the horizon quantities

\[\Omega_H , \Phi_H , T_H\]

depend on the full Kerr–Newman state.

Thus the coefficient multiplying dJ depends on charge, and the coefficient multiplying dQ depends on rotation.

The two physical work channels are therefore conditionally coupled.

23. The Individual Channel One-Forms Are Not Generally Exact

Across the full two-dimensional state domain,

\[dR_J\]

and

\[dR_Q\]

are not, in general, independently exact one-forms.

Their separate integrals can depend on the path taken through the (J, Q) state space.

The old Kerr–Newman analysis explicitly found this nonseparability.

24. Their Sum Is Exact

But

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=-dS_+.\]

Since

\[S_+\]

is a state function,

\[dS_+\]

is exact.

Therefore,

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

is exact.

The total retention relation is owned by the coupled horizon boundary.

25. This Is the Central Coupling Result

The physical decomposition is

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_J + dR_Q\]

But integrability belongs to

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

not separately to the individual channel reads.

Thus:

one horizon boundary → one exact retention relation → multiple physical work projections.

This is more primitive than treating rotation and charge as two independent black-hole mechanisms.

26. Introduce Enclosing Possibility

Let

\[\Theta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

denote the multiplicity of enclosing realizations compatible with the selected local Kerr–Newman macrostate.

Canonical R²D gives

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}}=\ln\frac{\Theta_{\mathrm{KN}}}{W_+}\]

Since

\[S_+ = \ln W_+\]

we have

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}} = \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} - S_+\]

Therefore,

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} - dS_+\]

27. Map the Stationary Family to Differential Stall

The fixed-mass stationary family is mapped to an R²D differential stall manifold by

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

This is an addendum-level physical mapping.

It says that an infinitesimal change of stationary Kerr–Newman macrostate changes enclosing possibility and productive retention equally.

Therefore,

\[dA_{\mathrm{KN}}=dP_{\mathrm{KN}}-dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=0.\]

28. Differential Stall Is Not Absolute Complete Retention

From

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

we cannot infer without additional boundary information that

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}} = R_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

absolutely.

The integration constant remains undetermined.

Thus the rigorous statement is

stationary Kerr–Newman is a differential stall manifold.

This is stronger than saying only that the geometry is stationary, but narrower than asserting absolute complete retention.

29. Differential Stall Is Also Not Mechanical Immobility

For a rotating state,

The relation between \(\Omega_H\) and zero is clipped [source page 1661; author review].

Changing rotational macrostates can have a nonzero work coordinate.

Likewise,

The relation between \(\Phi_H\) and zero is clipped [source page 1661; author review].

for a charged state.

Thus

\[dA_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

does not mean that the state lacks physical rotational or charge structure.

It means that the relevant infinitesimal possibility and retention changes balance.

30. The Compatible Enclosing Multiplicity Is Then Invariant

We have

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} - dS_+\]

and

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=-dS_+.\]

Under differential stall,

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

Therefore,

\[d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} - dS_+ = -dS_+\]

Hence,

\[d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Thus,

\[\Theta_{\mathrm{KN}}=\text{constant}\]

across the connected fixed-mass stationary family.

31. Rotation and Charge Reorganize the Local Landscape

The invariant

\[\Theta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

does not mean that the local horizon multiplicity remains unchanged.

Indeed,

\[S_+ = S_+ (j, q)\]

Changing rotation or charge changes

\[W_+ = e^{S_+}\]

Thus the stationary family reorganizes local horizon multiplicity while preserving the compatible enclosing multiplicity under the stall mapping.

32. Possibility Changes Because Local Multiplicity Changes

Since

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}} = \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} - S_+\]

and

\[d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

we have

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = -dS_+\]

But

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=-dS_+.\]

Therefore,

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

The stationary stall relation is realized through complementary change between native multiplicity and the possibility coordinate defined relative to the invariant enclosing compatibility count.

33. Schwarzschild Is the Reference Maximum-Multiplicity State at Fixed Mass

At

\[j = 0, q = 0\]

we have

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} = j_M\]

Therefore,

\[S_+ = 4\pi j_M\]

Define

\[S_{\mathrm{Schw}} = 4\pi j_M\]

This is the same-mass Schwarzschild horizon multiplicity coordinate.

34. Define Cumulative Retention Relative to Schwarzschild

For any state in the connected fixed-mass domain, define

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} \equiv S_{\mathrm{Schw}} - S_+\]

Because

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}} = -dS_+\]

this is the integrated physical retention difference relative to the Schwarzschild reference.

Thus,

\[S_+ + R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_{\mathrm{Schw}}\]

35. Do Not Identify the Schwarzschild Count With Primitive Possibility

The equality

\[S_+ + R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_{\mathrm{Schw}}\]

does not establish

\[P = S_{\mathrm{Schw}}\]

Nor does it establish

\[\ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_{\mathrm{Schw}}\]

The reference Schwarzschild entropy is a physical horizon multiplicity coordinate.

Primitive possibility remains

\[P = \ln \Theta - S\]

These count relations must remain separate.

36. Evaluate the Cumulative Retention

From

\[S_{\mathrm{Schw}} = 4\pi j_M\]

and

\[S_+ = 2\pi (j_M + \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) - \pi q^2\]

we obtain

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = 2\pi (j_M - \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) + \pi q^2\]

This is the integrated retention read from Schwarzschild to the selected Kerr–Newman state.

37. Now Examine the Inner Horizon

The inner-horizon multiplicity coordinate is

\[S_- = 2\pi (j_M - \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) - \pi q^2\]

Subtracting gives

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} - S_- = 2\pi q^2\]

Therefore,

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_- + 2\pi q^2\]

38. The Inner Horizon Is Not the Primitive Retention Coordinate

For general charge,

The relation between \(q\) and zero is clipped [source page 1665; author review].

we have

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} \ne S_-\]

Therefore no universal R²D principle can identify the inner-horizon multiplicity with total cumulative retention.

The inner horizon is a downstream geometric branch read.

Retention is defined before that projection.

39. Pure Kerr Is the Special Case

Set

\[q = 0\]

Then

\[R_J = S_-\]

Thus pure Kerr possesses an exact coincidence:

cumulative rotational retention = inner-horizon multiplicity count.

But Kerr–Newman shows that this equality is not primitive.

It is a special property of the uncharged rotational axis.

40. Reissner–Nordström Breaks the Coincidence

Set

\[j = 0\]

Then the system is Reissner–Nordström.

Its cumulative charge-state retention satisfies

\[R_Q = S_- + 2\pi q^2\]

The additional term is even under charge reversal:

\[q \to -q\]

leaves

\[2\pi q^2\]

unchanged.

Thus the charge projection carries retention structure not exhausted by the inner-horizon area count.

41. The Charge-Specific Excess Persists in Kerr–Newman

For the full Kerr–Newman family,

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} - S_- = 2\pi q^2\]

The difference contains no explicit j .

Thus the charge-specific excess retention survives the addition of rotation unchanged in this state-space representation.

The old Kerr–Newman analysis identified this as an exact algebraic result.

42. This Prevents an Inner-Horizon Ontology

The inner horizon cannot be the primitive origin of retention because the same R²D retention relation exists before its geometric decomposition.

Moreover,

\[R_J = S_-\]

only in one special physical subfamily.

Therefore the correct order is

retention relation → geometric branch representation,

not

inner horizon → retention.

43. Extremality Is the Boundary of the Admissible Macrostate Domain

The normalized state-space condition is

\[\chi_J^2 + \chi_Q^2 \le 1\]

Extremality is

\[\chi_J^2 + \chi_Q^2 = 1\]

Equivalently,

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

At this point the projected horizon roots coalesce:

\[x_+ = x_- = j_M\]

44. Extremality Is Not Where Differential Stall Begins

The differential stall relation is

\[dA_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Under the stationary mapping, this holds throughout the connected fixed-mass stationary family.

By contrast,

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

holds only at the extremal boundary.

Therefore,

Differential stall \(dA_{\mathrm{KN}}=0\) is a different condition from extremality \(\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}=0\).

Stall and extremality are different physical statements.

45. What Disappears at Extremality Is Branch Distinguishability

The outer- and inner-horizon multiplicity difference is

\[S_+ - S_-\]

Using the expressions above,

\[S_+ - S_- = 4\pi\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

Therefore,

\[S_+ - S_- = 4\pi\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

At extremality,

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} \to 0\]

so

\[S_+ - S_- \to 0\]

The two projected horizon branches become multiplicatively indistinguishable.

46. The Boundary Can Persist While the Branch Distinction Vanishes

At extremality,

\[S_+ = S_-\]

but

\[S_+ > 0\]

Thus the horizon multiplicity itself does not vanish.

What vanishes is the distinction between the two geometric branches.

This prepares the next question:

What physical read tracks that branch distinction?

The answer will be Hawking recurrence.

47. Principle — Coupled Horizon Macrostate Domain

At fixed mass, define

\[j_M=\frac{GM^2}{\hbar c},\qquad j=\frac J\hbar\]

and

\[q=\frac Q{q_P}\]

The stationary Kerr–Newman horizon domain satisfies

\[j^2+j_Mq^2\le j_M^2\]

Rotation and charge are distinct physical macrostate coordinates belonging to one horizon count domain.

48. Principle — Coupled Horizon Retention

For fixed-mass stationary Kerr–Newman transitions, define

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ+\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}\]

Then the first law gives

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=-dS_+.\]

The total coupled retention one-form is exact.

49. Principle — Stationary Differential Stall

Under the R²D stationary-state mapping,

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

Therefore,

\[dA_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

This defines a differential stall manifold.

It does not by itself fix the absolute integration constant between PKN and RKN .

50. Corollary — Invariant Enclosing Compatibility

Since

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}} = \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} - S_+\]

and

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}} = -dS_+\]

we obtain

\[d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Thus the compatible enclosing multiplicity is invariant across the connected fixed-mass stationary macrostate family.

51. Corollary — Physical Work Channels Need Not Be Primitive Retention Channels

The conventional decomposition

\[\Omega_H dJ + \Phi_H dQ\]

produces separate physical reads.

But only their combined dimensionless retention differential is generally exact:

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_J + dR_Q\]

Thus separate work coordinates need not imply separate primitive R²D retention variables.

52. Corollary — The Inner Horizon Is a Projection, Not the Retention Primitive

The integrated retention read satisfies

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_- + 2\pi q^2\]

Therefore,

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_-\]

only when

\[q = 0\]

The pure Kerr equality is a special-case projection identity.

53. Corollary — Extremality Is Branch Closure

Because

\[S_+ - S_- = 4\pi\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

extremality gives

\[S_+ - S_- = 0\]

Thus extremality is the point at which the outer/inner horizon branch distinction closes.

It is not the point at which the stationary differential stall condition first appears.

54. Background Remains Separate

Nothing in the present construction identifies horizon temperature with R²D background.

Nor is

\[\Theta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

the same object as a physical thermal bath.

Background, possibility, multiplicity, retention, and physical temperature remain distinct.

In particular,

The boxed \(T_H\) comparison has clipped relation glyphs [source page 1671; author review].

Temperature enters only as part of the thermodynamic physical calibration of the work/retention relation.

55. Logical Status

Canonical R²D

Multiplicity is

\[S = \ln W\]

Possibility is

\[P=\ln\frac\Theta W=\ln\Theta-S\]

Retention is distinct from multiplicity.

The directional asymmetry is

\[A = P - R\]

Conventional Physical Input

The Kerr–Newman horizon relation supplies

\[r_\pm=r_M\pm\sqrt{r_M^2-a^2-r_Q^2}\]

The Bekenstein–Hawking relation supplies the horizon multiplicity calibration.

The black-hole first law supplies

\[d(M c^2 ) = k_B T_H dS_+ + \Omega_H dJ + \Phi_H dQ\]

Derived State-Space Geometry

\[j^2+j_Mq^2\le j_M^2\]

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}=\sqrt{j_M^2-j^2-j_Mq^2}\]

and

\[S_+ = 2\pi(j_M + \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) - \pi q^2\]

Physical Retention Mapping

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ+\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}\]

At fixed mass,

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=-dS_+.\]

Addendum-Level R²D Mapping

The stationary family is mapped to differential stall:

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

Therefore,

\[dA_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

and

\[d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Derived Integrated Relation

Relative to Schwarzschild,

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_{\mathrm{Schw}} - S_+\]

and

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_- + 2\pi q^2\]

Not Established Here

This addendum does not establish that:

• primitive R²D independently derives the Kerr–Newman metric; • J is itself retention; • Q is itself retention; • rotation and charge are two independent primitive retention variables; • PKN = RKN absolutely throughout the family; • SSchw = ln ΘKN ; • the inner horizon is a primitive thermodynamic reservoir; • the inner horizon is universally the geometric read of retention; • ΔKN = A; • horizon temperature is background; • or charge quantization follows from the present construction.

56. The Central R²D Inversion

The conventional description begins with a Kerr–Newman geometry and writes

\[M, J, Q\]

57. Conclusion

Kerr, Reissner–Nordström, and Kerr–Newman do not require three different gravitational ontologies.

At fixed mass, they occupy one combined stationary horizon macrostate domain.

The mass-owned dimensionless scale is

\[j_M=\frac{GM^2}{\hbar c}\]

Rotation and charge supply the physical state coordinates

\[j=\frac J\hbar\]

and

\[q=\frac Q{q_P}\]

Their admissible states satisfy

\[j^2+j_Mq^2\le j_M^2\]

The outer horizon supplies the native multiplicity landscape

\[S_+ = 2\pi (j_M + \Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} ) - \pi q^2\]

where

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}=\sqrt{j_M^2-j^2-j_Mq^2}\]

The black-hole first law then gives the coupled physical retention differential

\[dR_{\mathrm{KN}}=\frac{\Omega_H\,dJ+\Phi_H\,dQ}{k_BT_H}=-dS_+\]

The two conventional work terms are physically distinguishable.

But their separate retention-channel one-forms are not generally independent state functions across the full two-dimensional state domain.

Their sum is exact.

The integrable relation therefore belongs to the coupled horizon boundary.

Under the R²D stationary-state mapping,

\[dP_{\mathrm{KN}} = dR_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

so

\[dA_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

This is a differential stall condition.

It does not by itself establish the absolute equality

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}} = R_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

Combining this differential stall relation with

\[P_{\mathrm{KN}} = \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} - S_+\]

gives

\[d \ln \Theta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Thus the local horizon multiplicity changes while the compatible enclosing multiplicity remains invariant across the connected fixed-mass stationary family.

Relative to Schwarzschild,

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_{\mathrm{Schw}} - S_+\]

The inner horizon then satisfies

\[R_{\mathrm{KN}} = S_- + 2\pi q^2\]

Only on the pure Kerr axis does

\[q=0\]

give

\[R_J = S_-\]

Thus the inner horizon is not the primitive origin of retention.

It is a downstream branch of the physical geometry.

Finally, extremality occurs when

\[\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}} = 0\]

Since

\[S_+ - S_- = 4\pi\Delta_{\mathrm{KN}}\]

extremality gives

\[S_+ = S_-\]

The horizon boundary remains.

Its multiplicity remains nonzero.

What disappears is the distinction between its two projected horizon branches.

That event is different from differential stall and prepares the next physical question: why does Hawking recurrence vanish when the branch distinction disappears?

The causal order is therefore

boundary → macrostate domain → multiplicity → coupled retention → differential stall → geometric horizon bra

Thus:

coupled horizon retention occurs before Kerr–Newman geometry.

And more specifically:

rotation and charge are distinct physical projections of one coupled stationary horizon relation whos
