Addendum 58 — Physical Clock Calibration Occurs Before the Hubble Rate

Subordinate Closure, Clock-Relative Progress, and the Physical- Time Read of an Open Cosmological Path

Abstract

Addenda 56 and 57 established two distinct components of cosmological evolution.

First, a structural cosmological transition,

\[i_\zeta^\ast \to k_\zeta^\ast\]

may acquire a gravitational boundary-area read,

\[A_{\zeta,i} \to A_{\zeta,k}\]

Under an isotropic FLRW projection,

\[a\propto\sqrt{A_\zeta}\]

Second, the sign of the resulting physical cosmological branch is not supplied by the squared-rate Friedmann constraint.

Directional organization occurs earlier through the R²D asymmetry

\(A_\zeta=P_\zeta-R_\zeta\) supplies direction for a nonterminal cosmological boundary. hierarchy remains open.

One bridge nevertheless remains unresolved.

The transition

\[i_\zeta^\ast \to k_\zeta^\ast\]

defines structural change.

The area relation

\[A_{\zeta,i} \to A_{\zeta,k}\]

defines geometric change.

Neither yet defines a physical rate.

A rate requires a physical clock.

R²D already distinguishes recursive recurrence from physical time. Recursively mapped closure recurrence is ordered before any physical clock is introduced; physical time makes that pre-existing recurrence ordering readable as physical rate. The recursive clock is therefore not one universal external oscillator but the relational ordering of recurrent closure across the hierarchy.

This distinction becomes decisive in cosmology.

Let

\[B_c\]

be a subordinate physical clock boundary whose readable state path repeatedly closes.

Let

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

count completed closures of that clock.

This closure count is distinct from cosmological microstate occurrence,

\[\nu_\zeta\]

and from its logarithmic occurrence coordinate,

\[\tau_\zeta=\ln\nu_\zeta\]

Thus:

\[\nu_\zeta\ne N_C^{(c)}\ne t\]

Before assigning seconds, compare cosmological boundary-area change directly with completed clock closure.

Define the dimensionless clock-relative cosmological progress

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\equiv\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\]

The quantity

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

measures logarithmic cosmological linear-scale change per completed closure of clock c.

No physical time unit is required.

A physical clock calibration then assigns a duration place value

\[T_c\]

to one completed closure of the selected clock class:

\[dt=T_c\,dN_C^{(c)}\]

For a locally stable clock,

\[f_c=\frac1{T_c}=\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}\]

The chain rule then gives

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}.\]

Equivalently,

\[H=\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

The Hubble rate is therefore not itself a primitive clock.

It is the product of two distinct physical relations:

Hζ∣c = cosmological progress per completed clock closure,

and

fc = physical temporal calibration of that closure.

This decomposition separates structural/geometric progress from temporal place value.

The clock does not determine whether the cosmological boundary expands or contracts.

For a positively counted clock,

\[f_c > 0\]

Therefore,

\[\operatorname{sgn}H=\operatorname{sgn}\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

The cosmological branch direction remains in the numerator:

\[d \ln A_\zeta\]

The clock calibrates the denominator.

This allows local closed clocks to measure progress along a cosmological path that has not itself closed.

The architecture is

closed subordinate recurrence

measuring

progress along an open enclosing path.

Consequently, no completed period of the terminal boundary is required in order to measure cosmological evolution.

If

\[B_\star\]

is the largest presently realized open boundary, there need not exist an internally measured completed period

\[T_\star\]

Nevertheless subordinate clocks can repeatedly close and supply physical time calibration.

Thus:

\[H^{-1}\ne T_\star\]

and

\[H\ne f_\star.\]

The Hubble rate and terminal recurrence have different boundary ownership.

A change of admissible physical clock also leaves the physical Hubble rate invariant.

For two clock classes c and d,

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}=f_d\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}\]

Therefore,

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}=\frac{f_c}{f_d}\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

A faster clock counts more closures during the same cosmological evolution and therefore records less cosmological progress per closure.

The measured physical rate remains unchanged.

Where two clock classes are recursively related and their physical frequencies faithfully read their boundary- level recurrence relation, the recursive-clock ordering can supply their frequency ratio. However, aggregate subordinate closure count must not automatically be interpreted as the temporal frequency of every subordinate oscillator. Characteristic physical frequency requires an appropriate coherent boundary-level recurrence class.

At cosmological scale, a single global physical oscillator is neither required nor appropriate.

A cosmological time coordinate instead requires a coherent class of subordinate physical clocks whose closure calibrations define mutually compatible duration reads.

Let

\[\mathcal K_\zeta=\{B_{c,\alpha}\}\]

denote such an admissible clock class.

When their calibrated recurrence reads are mutually compatible under the cosmological projection, they may define one common physical time coordinate

\[t\]

The candidate R²D ordering is therefore

subordinate closure → clock recurrence count → physical duration calibration → t,

not

master cosmological recurrence → t.

The physical clock supplies the temporal ruler.

It does not supply the primitive cosmological direction.

That direction remains upstream:

\(A_\zeta=P_\zeta-R_\zeta\) > ↓

biased structural realization

\[i_\zeta^\ast \to k_\zeta^\ast\]

↓

geometric change

\[\Delta \ln A_\zeta\]

The subordinate clock independently supplies

\[dN_C^{(c)}\to dt\]

Only when these two reads are compared does the physical Hubble rate appear:

\[H=\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

The central statement is therefore:

the Hubble rate is not a primitive cosmological clock. It is the physical-time calibration of cosmologi

And hence:

physical clock calibration occurs before the Hubble rate.

1. Cosmological Change Does Not Yet Define a Rate

The primitive cosmological transition

\[i_\zeta^\ast \to k_\zeta^\ast\]

defines structural change.

Its physical projection

\[A_{\zeta,i} \to A_{\zeta,k}\]

defines geometric change.

Neither relation contains a physical duration.

Therefore neither alone defines

\[H\]

2. Physical Rate Requires Two Different Reads

Any rate requires:

  1. a changing quantity;
  2. a physical temporal calibration.

For cosmological expansion these are:

\[d \ln A_\zeta\]

and

\[dt\]

R²D must derive their physical meanings separately.

3. The Cosmological Numerator Is Already Defined

Addendum 56 established

\[a\propto\sqrt{A_\zeta}\]

Therefore,

\[d\ln a=\frac12\,d\ln A_\zeta\]

The geometric numerator of the Hubble rate has therefore been identified.

4. The Denominator Is Still Missing

The conventional definition

\[H=\frac{d\ln a}{dt}\]

contains the physical coordinate

\[t\]

R²D cannot simply assume that t is primitive after explicitly placing physical time downstream of recurrence.

The clock bridge must be stated.

5. Cosmological Occurrence Is Not Physical Time

R²D occurrence at the cosmological boundary is counted by

\[\nu_{\zeta,i}\]

Its logarithmic coordinate is

\[\tau_\zeta=\ln\nu_\zeta\]

Neither is physical time.

Thus:

\[\tau_\zeta\ne t\]

6. Occurrence Count and Clock Closure Count Are Also Different

A physical clock counts completed closures of one selected recurrent boundary relation.

Let

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

denote this count.

Then:

\[\nu_\zeta\ne N_C^{(c)}\]

The first counts cosmological realization occurrences.

The second counts completed recurrence of the reference clock.

7. Define a Physical Clock Boundary

Let

\[B_c\]

be a subordinate boundary with a repeatedly readable closure path

\[c_0 \to c_1 \to \cdots \to c_0\]

Each completed return increments

\[N_C^{(c)}\to N_C^{(c)}+1\]

8. The Clock Count Is Dimensionless

Before physical temporal calibration,

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

is simply a recurrence count.

No second has yet been assigned.

This is consistent with the recursive-clock architecture in which recurrence ordering exists before physical time.

9. Define Cosmological Progress Per Clock Closure

Compare projected cosmological change directly with clock closure count.

Define

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\equiv\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\]

This quantity is dimensionless.

10. Interpretation of Hζ∣c

The quantity

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

means:

logarithmic cosmological linear-scale change per completed clock closure.

It is a clock-relative measure of progress.

It is not yet the Hubble rate.

11. Clock-Relative Progress Exists Before Seconds

The ratio

\[\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\]

can be defined without assigning the clock closure any duration in seconds.

Thus:

relative progress → physical rate

is itself a projection sequence.

12. Physical Clock Calibration Assigns Temporal Place Value

A physical clock calibration assigns one completed closure a duration place value

\[T_c\]

For an ideal locally stable clock,

\[dt=T_c\,dN_C^{(c)}\]

This is the conversion from recurrence count to physical duration.

13. Frequency Is the Reciprocal Calibration

Define

\[f_c=\frac1{T_c}\]

Then

\[f_c=\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}\]

Frequency is therefore the physical rate read of the completed closure count.

14. The Hubble Rate Follows by Chain Rule

From

\[H=\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dt}\]

insert the subordinate clock coordinate:

\[H=\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

Therefore:

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}.\]

15. This Is the Physical-Time Bridge

The Hubble rate is decomposed into

progress per closure

times

closures per physical duration.

That is:

H = structural/geometric throughput × clock calibration.

16. A Finite-Interval Version Makes the Calibration Explicit

Between two cosmological structural reads,

\[A_{\zeta,1}\quad\text{and}\quad A_{\zeta,2}\]

suppose the reference clock completes

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

closures.

Define

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}=\frac{1}{2\Delta N_C^{(c)}}\ln\frac{A_{\zeta,2}}{A_{\zeta,1}}\]

17. Physical Duration Then Follows From Clock Calibration

For constant clock calibration over the comparison domain,

\[dt=T_c\,dN_C^{(c)}\]

Therefore,

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}.\]

18. Physical Time Is Therefore a Recurrence Read

Operationally, physical duration is assigned through calibrated recurrence.

The primitive recurrence exists first.

The physical unit follows.

This parallels the general R²D separation between count structure and later physical dimensionalization.

19. Physical Time Does Not Create Recurrence

The causal/logical ordering is not

\[t\to N_C\]

The completed closure count exists before it is expressed in seconds.

Thus:

recurrence → physical time read.

20. This Extends the Recursive Clock Without Turning It Into an Oscillator

R²D’s recursive clock is the ordered recurrence relation across boundaries.

It is not one mechanical oscillator external to the hierarchy.

Part III explicitly distinguishes these meanings.

21. The Physical Clock Is One Chosen Boundary Read

The clock

\[B_c\]

is therefore not “the recursive clock.”

It is one physical recurrent boundary used to calibrate a duration coordinate.

Thus:

Bc ≠ recursive clock hierarchy.

22. Nor Is It the Cosmological Master Boundary

The reference clock is subordinate to the cosmological relation it measures.

Therefore:

\[B_c \ne B_\star\]

The physical clock can close repeatedly while the terminal path remains open.

23. Closed Clocks Can Exist Inside an Open Path

Let the cosmological structural path remain

\[i_0^\ast \to i_1^\ast \to i_2^\ast \to \cdots\]

without completed return.

Within that open path, subordinate clocks can realize

\[c_0 \to c_1 \to \cdots \to c_0\]

again and again.

24. This Is the Essential Cosmological Clock Architecture

The hierarchy is

open enclosing progression

containing

repeated closed subordinate recurrence.

The lower closures provide the ruler.

The upper path provides the progress being measured.

25. Cosmological Measurement Does Not Require Terminal Closure

Because subordinate clocks close repeatedly, an observer does not need to wait for the entire cosmological relation to return before measuring progress.

26. There Need Be No Measurable Master Period

If

\[B_\star\]

remains open, then no completed terminal recurrence exists from which to infer one measured period

\[T_\star\]

That does not prevent the existence of calibrated subordinate physical clocks.

27. Hubble Time Is Not the Master Period

The dimensional combination

\[H^{-1}\]

is a characteristic physical expansion timescale.

It is not automatically a recurrence period of the largest boundary.

Therefore:

\[H^{-1}\ne T_\star\]

28. Hubble Rate Is Not Master Frequency

Likewise:

\[H\ne f_\star.\]

A Hubble rate is geometric progress per calibrated physical duration.

A terminal recurrence frequency would require completed recurrence of the terminal boundary.

These are not the same object.

29. The Clock Does Not Supply Cosmological Direction

Choose clock count orientation such that

\[dN_C^{(c)}>0\]

For a conventional positive duration calibration,

\[f_c > 0\]

Then

\(H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\) implies

\[\operatorname{sgn}H=\operatorname{sgn}\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

30. Branch Direction Lies in Cosmological Progress

The sign therefore comes from

\[d \ln A_\zeta\]

not from the clock recurrence.

The clock tells us how much calibrated duration accompanies the change.

It does not determine which way the cosmological state changes.

31. This Preserves Addendum 57

Addendum 57 located physical branch direction upstream of the squared Friedmann constraint.

The present result sharpens that statement.

The reference clock supplies temporal scale.

It does not supply branch orientation.

32. Primitive Asymmetry Acts on the Numerator

For a nonterminal cosmological boundary,

\(A_\zeta=P_\zeta-R_\zeta\) biases structural realization.

That realization projects onto

\[\Delta \ln A_\zeta\]

Thus primitive directional organization acts upstream of the numerator of the measured rate.

33. Clock Calibration Acts on the Denominator

The subordinate recurrence count

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

acquires physical temporal place value through

\[T_c\]

Thus the physical clock calibrates the denominator.

34. The Full Rate Bridge Is Therefore Factorized

The rate relation is

\[H=\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

This is the central mathematical decomposition of the addendum.

35. Aζ Is Still Not H

The decomposition makes clear why

\[A_\zeta\ne H\]

The Hubble rate contains both:

• a structural/geometric response; • a physical temporal calibration.

The primitive asymmetry supplies neither physical unit by itself.

36. Nor Is Aζ a Clock Frequency

Likewise:

\[A_\zeta \ne f_c\]

Asymmetry biases realization.

Frequency calibrates recurrent physical closure.

37. Different Physical Clocks Must Give the Same H

Suppose two admissible clocks

c and d

measure the same cosmological area evolution.

Then:

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}=f_d\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}\]

38. Clock-Relative Progress Transforms Inversely With Clock Frequency

Therefore,

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}=\frac{f_c}{f_d}\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

A faster clock records more closures during the same cosmological change.

The amount of cosmological progress per closure is therefore smaller.

39. Physical Hubble Rate Is Clock-Calibration Invariant

Although

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

depends on the selected clock,

\[H\]

does not, provided the clocks are correctly calibrated to the same physical duration standard.

Thus:

clock-relative progress is calibration dependent;

the physical rate is not.

40. This Is a Necessary Consistency Test

If two admissible clocks give different physical H for the same cosmological state change after proper conversion, at least one proposed clock calibration or projection has failed.

Thus clock invariance supplies an empirical consistency requirement for the R²D rate bridge.

42. Let the Recursive Frequency Ratio Be ρd∣c

For two recursively related clock reads, suppose

\[\frac{f_d}{f_c}=\rho_{d\mid c}\]

Then clock invariance gives

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}=\frac{\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}}{\rho_{d\mid c}}\]

43. Recursive Clock Ordering Does Not Change Cosmological Rate

Therefore:

\[f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}=f_d\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}=H\]

The recursive hierarchy changes the closure coordinate used to measure progress.

It does not change the physical progress being measured.

44. Aggregate Closure Count Must Not Be Confused With Oscillator Frequency

The recursive-clock theorem concerns recursively mapped closure recurrence.

Parallel branching can increase aggregate subordinate closure count without proving that each subordinate system oscillates proportionally faster.

This qualification is already explicit in the existing recurrence analysis.

45. A Physical Clock Requires a Coherent Closure Class

For

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

to function as a clock coordinate, its counted closure must correspond to a coherent recurrent physical class whose closure can be reproducibly calibrated.

Not every aggregate occurrence count qualifies.

46. Physical Clock Choice Is Boundary Specific

Actual physical recurrence frequency depends on realization geometry, compatibility, constraint, and comparison domain even when the underlying state architecture remains unchanged.

There is therefore no universal numerical frequency assigned by recursive index alone.

47. Cosmological Time Requires More Than One Local Oscillator

A local physical clock can measure local duration.

A cosmological time coordinate requires compatible calibration across the relevant cosmological description.

That introduces a further physical coherence condition.

48. Define a Cosmological Clock Class

Let

\[\mathcal K_\zeta=\{B_{c,\alpha}\}\]

be a family of subordinate physical clocks participating in the cosmological projection.

Each possesses a recurrent closure count

\[N_C^{(c,\alpha)}\]

49. Clock Coherence Requires Compatible Duration Reads

For clocks in the same cosmological clock class, their calibrated recurrence must permit conversion onto one shared duration coordinate.

Schematically:

\[T_{c,\alpha}\,dN_C^{(c,\alpha)}=dt\]

for the common cosmological time read after the appropriate physical calibration.

50. The Clocks Need Not Be Identical Oscillators

Different physical clocks can use different recurrence mechanisms.

They need only supply mutually consistent calibrated duration reads.

Therefore:

clock coherence ≠ clock identity.

51. Cosmic Time Is a Coherent Physical Clock Read

Under an FLRW-type projection, the candidate R²D interpretation is therefore:

coherent subordinate clock class → t.

The cosmic time coordinate belongs to the physical projection.

It is not primitive count.

52. Cosmic Time Is Not Terminal Recurrence

The alternative identification

t = master clock phase

is not required and is generally unavailable if the master boundary remains open.

Thus:

t≠ terminal recurrence coordinate.

53. This Resolves the Apparent Cosmological Clock Paradox

The largest realized path may be too open to possess one measured completed period.

Yet physical time can remain locally and cosmologically readable because subordinate closures recur repeatedly.

Thus:

open master relation + closed subordinate clocks

is not contradictory.

It is the expected recursive architecture.

54. The Largest Gear Need Not Complete One Turn for Time to Be Measured

In the gear analogy, smaller gears repeatedly return while the largest open path has not completed a return.

Observers embedded in the hierarchy use those smaller recurrent relations as temporal rulers.

Thus the absence of a measured master period does not imply the absence of measurable progress.

55. Principle — Clock-Relative Cosmological Progress

For a subordinate recurrent clock Bc , define

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\equiv\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\]

This is dimensionless cosmological scale progress per completed clock closure.

56. Principle — Physical Clock Calibration

A physical temporal calibration assigns the duration place value

\[T_c\]

to one completed clock closure:

\[dt=T_c\,dN_C^{(c)}\]

For a stable local calibration,

\[f_c=\frac1{T_c}\]

57. Principle — Hubble Rate as Calibrated Clock-Relative Progress

The physical Hubble rate is

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}.\]

Equivalently,

\[H=\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

58. Principle — Clock Calibration Does Not Supply Direction

For positive clock recurrence calibration,

\[f_c > 0\]

Therefore:

\[\operatorname{sgn}H=\operatorname{sgn}\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\]

The physical clock calibrates temporal magnitude.

It does not choose the cosmological branch.

59. Principle — Closed Clocks Measure Open Progress

A subordinate clock may repeatedly close while the enclosing cosmological structural path remains unclosed.

Therefore:

completed subordinate recurrence can calibrate progress along an incomplete enclosing path.

No completed terminal period is required.

60. Principle — Clock-Choice Invariance

For two correctly calibrated admissible clocks,

\[f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}=f_d\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}=H\]

The clock-relative count coordinate changes.

The physical rate does not.

61. Logical Status

Canonical R²D

Recurrence and closure are count relations before physical time is introduced.

The logarithmic occurrence coordinate

\[\tau = \ln \nu\]

is not physical time.

Existing Recursive-Clock Result

Recursive realization orders boundary-level recurrence before physical rate calibration.

Physical frequency can read that ordering when the relevant recurrent closure class admits a physical frequency calibration.

Existing Qualification

Aggregate recursively mapped closure recurrence must not automatically be identified with the temporal frequency of each subordinate oscillator. A characteristic physical frequency requires an appropriate coherent boundary-level closure class.

Addendum 56

The cosmological structural transition may acquire an area read

\[A_\zeta\]

with

\[a\propto\sqrt{A_\zeta}\]

Addendum 57

The sign of cosmological geometric evolution lies upstream of the squared Friedmann rate constraint.

New Clock-Relative Coordinate

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\equiv\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\]

New Physical-Time Calibration

\[dt=T_c\,dN_C^{(c)}\]

Derived Hubble Decomposition

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}.\]

New Clock-Invariance Requirement

For any two admissible calibrated clock classes,

\[f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}=f_d\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid d}\]

Not Established Here

This addendum does not establish:

  • a unique universal physical clock;
  • the identity of a preferred cosmological clock mechanism;
  • that every recursively subordinate closure is a physical clock;
  • that aggregate closure recurrence equals oscillator frequency;
  • that τ = t;
  • that H is terminal recurrence;
  • that H −1 is the master period;
  • the physical frequency of the terminal boundary;
  • the derivation of Hζ∣c from Aζ ;
  • the derivation of a specific atomic or astronomical clock standard from primitive R²D;
  • or the Friedmann magnitude law from primitive R²D counting.

62. The Complete Rate Architecture

Primitive asymmetry supplies direction:

\(A_\zeta=P_\zeta-R_\zeta\) supplies direction for a nonterminal cosmological boundary.

That asymmetry biases structural peer realization:

\[i_\zeta^\ast \to k_\zeta^\ast\]

The structural transition acquires an area read:

\[A_{\zeta,i} \to A_{\zeta,k}\]

A subordinate clock repeatedly closes:

\[c_0 \to c_1 \to \cdots \to c_0\]

Those closures define the recurrence coordinate

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

Cosmological progress relative to that clock is

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\equiv\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\]

Physical clock calibration supplies

\[dt=T_c\,dN_C^{(c)}\]

or

\[f_c=\frac{dN_C^{(c)}}{dt}\]

The physical Hubble rate is therefore

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}.\]

Thus:

primitive direction

↓

structural cosmological progress

↓

boundary-area progress per clock closure

combined with

physical duration per clock closure

to produce

physical Hubble rate.

63. Conclusion

R²D cosmology does not need a universal master oscillator in order to define physical time.

Nor does the largest realized boundary need to complete one full closure before cosmological progress can be measured.

The recursive hierarchy already contains repeatedly closing subordinate boundaries.

A selected coherent physical clock boundary

\[B_c\]

provides a completed closure count

\[N_C^{(c)}\]

Before seconds are introduced, cosmological progress can be measured relative to that recurrence:

\[\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}\equiv\frac12\frac{d\ln A_\zeta}{dN_C^{(c)}}\]

This is a dimensionless relation between two count-derived reads:

• projected cosmological boundary-area change; • completed subordinate clock closure.

A physical temporal calibration then assigns one clock closure a duration

\[T_c\]

Thus:

\[dt=T_c\,dN_C^{(c)}\]

Equivalently,

\[f_c=\frac1{T_c}\]

The physical Hubble rate follows:

\[H=f_c\mathcal H_{\zeta\mid c}.\]

This decomposition makes clear what the Hubble parameter is not.

It is not primitive asymmetry.

It is not raw occurrence count.

It is not the logarithmic occurrence coordinate.

It is not the recursive clock hierarchy.

It is not the frequency of the largest gear.

And its inverse is not the completed period of the terminal boundary.

The Hubble rate is a compound physical read.

Its numerator originates in cosmological structural realization and its geometric area projection.

Its denominator is supplied by calibrated recurrence of subordinate closed clocks.

The deepest cosmological architecture is therefore not one universal clock measuring itself.

It is an open enclosing path containing recurrent subordinate clocks.

The subordinate clocks close.

The cosmological path progresses.

The clock closure supplies the temporal ruler by which that progress becomes a physical rate.

The central statement is therefore:

the Hubble rate is not a primitive cosmological clock. It is the physical-time calibration of cosmologi

And hence:

physical clock calibration occurs before the Hubble rate.
